back to the birds

After many weeks of too much packing and too little art-making, I can finally say (with great relief) that our move to Massachusetts is behind us. In the midst of all the packing, I was still trying to make artwork and experiment with the abstract works that I posted earlier in the summer. It's actually those moments of creativity that probably kept me relatively calm through the whole process.
This little screech owl illustration is one of the pieces that I finished during that time of transition. It took several months to actually complete, as I only had rare moments here and there to work on it. I figured that now was a good time to post these little guys. I envision them sitting quite happily within some wooded glen, and that's kind of how I feel too. While our new place is not isolated in the midst of a giant forest, we are somewhat tucked away in a country-like setting....lots of trees, open spaces, dark nights....and perhaps even a few little owls hiding out somewhere nearby.

LOVE THEM!
awww... look at these cuties!
And, by the way, it was so fun running into you at the toll boths on the way to Boston! Although, it's really not the place for a good conversation.

Congratulations on the move!
