remnants: a little blue robot

I finally got around to finishing this poor, little robot last night. He'd been sitting on my desk for weeks, arm-less and eye-less...just waiting for me to find my inspiration. I'm happy to say that he's finished and even has a few more unfinished friends waiting to join him very soon.

My burst of inspiration last night happened as a result of my most recent organizational binge. For years, I've kept all my little "odds and ends" in glass jars. This seemed like a good idea and a fun way to display them. But, I found that I never opened the jars or used the wonderful treasures stored inside. A recent revelation led me to believe that the plastic bead boxes I'd been using for years to house my abundant bead collection, might also be well suited for holding miscellaneous pieces for creating these "remnant characters." And so I began organizing. Tacks and screws here. Glass marbles there. Stones and sea glass in yet another compartment. My "brilliant idea" soon turned a bit more large-scale than I had intended. But, now that everything is at my fingertips, I feel inspired and ready to continue creating.

oh my goodness! love it. What a great little guy.
I totally know what you mean by organizational binge! It must be some kind of full moon thing. Once I start on my rampage, there's no stopping me 'til I'm done.
