found inspiration: rocks

A recent trip to Maine led to some unexpected finds amongst the beachy rocks and tide pools. I'm not sure how these beautiful vignettes from nature will find their way into my illustrations, but I love them nonetheless. They seem like paintings to me. The textures are so alluring and the colors are perfect. So, I'm quite sure that these rocks will someday wander quite neatly into some future art pieces. It's the how and when that have yet to be determined.
