w is for wedding invitations
Even if I weren't planning my own wedding, I think that I'd be hard-pressed to not use wedding invitations as my source of inspiration for "W." For years I've been perusing bridal magazines, thinking of ideas for receptions and imagining extravagantly designed invitations in my mind. The truth is that the invitations were always the things that really captivated me. Until about 5 months ago, when I was absolutely forced to, I had given little thought to the type of dress that I would want to wear. The dresses, the flowers, the rings, the cake...they all took a back seat to the invitation. The way I see it, the invitation sets the stage for the entire event. The colors, the style, the materials....they all give the first glimpse into the magic and allure of a wedding day. There is definitely something exciting about opening one's mailbox and finding an extravagant wedding invitation inside.
If, one day, I could make wedding invitations all day long, I think I would find myself extremely content. Perhaps I would tire of it eventually. But, at this moment, I can imagine nothing more suited to me.

You're doing such a great job picking out everything, Heather! I know how confusing and daunting it can be (and how slowly it seems to go at times).
It's nice to see you both know what you want. You are making it your day, and that's the point really! How special.
Speaking of Illustration at UConn, the reason I popped on here, was that I wasn't sure if you'd been in the Illustration Alum message boards recently [or at all], as they are kicking around some awesome ideas to do an alumni show. Do take a peek, as it would be a great venue for you, esp as you near the end of the alphabet!
